From the reviews

I have been practicing Tai Chi with Sifu Lou for several months. Although I have never enjoyed exercising in any way, I find the hour spent with Sifu just flies by! Sifu Lou has a great sense of humor and makes every class an entertaining experience.

I was welcomed here with open arms with no prior martial arts experience. 5 years later I have made so much progress. Sifu Lou has affordable classes that help you learn self defense and confidence, plus its a great workout!

★★★★★ — Victoria, May 2022

WARM, family-oriented, growth-mindset. Real-deal Kung Fu with integrity. My son loves working with Sifu Lou. He is a kind, loving, and firm teacher. Teaches children self-reliance, emotional regulation, how to defend against 'bad-guys'/bullies and help others. He has a real gift with children.

★★★★★ — Emily, Jan 2025

All I can say is WOW. Here I am at the tender age of 61, having heard for decades that Tai Chi can really help in every aspect of one's personal health. That it can even "reverse" the aging process! Now I know it's true! I take both Tai Chi and Kung Fu, as Sifu Lou teaches them back-to-back.

Your first tai chi class at Traditional Wing Chun Kung Fu and Tai Chi Center

Nervous about walking into a tai chi class for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a gentle warm-up, then learning a few slow movements of the form, step by step — no pressure to get it perfect, and you can rest or sit whenever you need to. What to wear: loose, comfortable clothing you can move in, and flat, flexible shoes (some studios practice in socks or bare feet). What to bring: water, and that's about it — there's no equipment to buy. Arrive a few minutes early to say hello to the instructor and mention it's your first class. It comes together faster than you'd think — most people feel far more at ease by their second or third visit.

Tai chi is gentle and low-impact, but it's still exercise, and the health notes here are general information, not medical advice. If you have any injuries or health concerns, mention them to the instructor before class, and check with your doctor before starting a new exercise program.
