The S.T.A.R. Treatment Program utilizes the g.e.t.i.t. paradigm which provides a common lexicon along with strategies and tactics to deal with the many layers of substance addiction that weave in and out of the physical, mental, emotional, social, spiritual and environmental arenas that our s.t.a.r.s. are embattled with and in. GET IT is designed to reduce the complex blocks of information that the client is impacted by and reduce it to the pertinent fundamentals or essentials.
Western society along with it’s traditional educational systems tends to promote
fragmentation, a strong sense of alienation and aloneness and a system that provides easily obtained methods to escape that same emptiness whether it is through alcohol, drugs, sex or even work.
STAR works integratively with the IAM process through both individual and group therapy. It utilizes ideograms and taichi methodologies to assist the client in cultivating positive holistic and integrated relationships, developing right left brain integration which, in turn, promotes the client’s analytical and intuitive sides to harmonize with instead of combat or ignore each other. STAR helps to fuse all the fragmented or compartmentalized aspects of the client’s personality in accordance with Gestalt principles to arrive at a sense of peace and harmonious integration in which the STAR client has no need or desire for mood, mind and state altering substances that imprison their mind, body and spirit.
The process of personal evolution and empowerment is a step by step methodology where there are no failures or mistakes. There are only lessons to be repeated until realized. The STAR client learns to accept responsibility for their willful conscious intentional choices that create their state, their body, their relationships and their world.
“For me all things are permissible but not all things are beneficial and I will NOT be mastered by anything.”
