From the reviews
I've been learning Tai Chi and Kung Fu for about one year now from this studio and have absolutely enjoyed it. I've lost weight, gained flexibility and been able to share my class time with some amazing people. The class is focused on traditional Kung Fu of both northern and southern styles.
I have been learning martial arts from Monk Wise for about 7 months now. I absolutely LOVE this studio. The environment is very friendly and comforting. The teachers are amazing and they help each individual student 1 on 1. I have gained internal strength, focus, flexibility, fluid movements and physical strength.
If you are looking for excellent martial arts training options for yourself or for your entire family, Monk Wise Martial Arts Academy is one of the very best. Not only will you get a great work out, you'll get a great educational avenue for self-defense.
My children have been learning Kung Fu at Monk Wise since 2012, and it has been (and continues to be) a fantastic experience for them. First, Shifu Woolsey and his team are friendly, engaging, patient and talented.
Your first tai chi class at Monk Wise Academy
Nervous about walking into a tai chi class for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a gentle warm-up, then learning a few slow movements of the form, step by step — no pressure to get it perfect, and you can rest or sit whenever you need to. What to wear: loose, comfortable clothing you can move in, and flat, flexible shoes (some studios practice in socks or bare feet). What to bring: water, and that's about it — there's no equipment to buy. Arrive a few minutes early to say hello to the instructor and mention it's your first class. It comes together faster than you'd think — most people feel far more at ease by their second or third visit.
