Certified instruction — reviews and the studio's own info point to a recognized tai chi program or lineage (think Tai Chi for Health / Dr. Paul Lam, the Taoist Tai Chi Society, or a named family-style teacher). From the reviews
Best place in the mid west to train traditional Chinese martial arts. Sifu is excellent with adults, kids, and seniors alike. He teaches a strict yet very adaptative style that anybody can learn and progress. Wish I would have found him sooner !
Shifu Luo is an excellent teacher of whom is steeped in experience. He has an uncanny ability to know what is required of each individual student to progress in their journey of physical cultivation. His conditioning practices has left me more supple than I was as a teenager.
Fantastic place. Been doing martial arts for 12 years but have only been doing Wushu with Luohan for four months but it is a fantastic place. Shīfu is incredibly knowledgeable and a wonderful teacher. He cares about his students, and helps them to succeed.

Your first tai chi class at Luohan Wushu Kung Fu Center
Nervous about walking into a tai chi class for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a gentle warm-up, then learning a few slow movements of the form, step by step — no pressure to get it perfect, and you can rest or sit whenever you need to. What to wear: loose, comfortable clothing you can move in, and flat, flexible shoes (some studios practice in socks or bare feet). What to bring: water, and that's about it — there's no equipment to buy. Arrive a few minutes early to say hello to the instructor and mention it's your first class. It comes together faster than you'd think — most people feel far more at ease by their second or third visit.
