From the reviews

Dr. Lau is my go to acupuncturist and I would highly recommend him to anyone with any type of pain or injury. He has treated me on and off now for about 3 years for various musculoskeletal injuries ranging from golfer's elbow, low back pain and a hamstring strain.

★★★★★ — Matthew, Sep 2015

Dr. Lau is highly skilled and knowledgeable Acupuncture Physician. He was the only person able to relieve and completely cure my plantar fasciitis. I was in so much pain and tried physical therapy, chiropractic and massage but only felt momentary improvemnt.

★★★★★ — Integrative, Aug 2020

I have had vulnerability to neck and back strains since my teens. I had tried many treatment options over the years including Chiropractors and Physical Therapists, but was rarely satisfied. I am not a fan of needles, so trying something like acupuncture was not at all on my radar until I met Dr. Brian Lau.

★★★★★ — Jason, Aug 2015

I have been seeing Brian Lua for a couple years. He has been able to get me thru all my aches and pains. I had a heavy object impact the top of my head and suffered from a concussion and nerve damage. He does deep tissue message to hurting areas, neck, back, head, knees and it always feels great afterwards.

Your first tai chi class at Ideal Balance

Nervous about walking into a tai chi class for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a gentle warm-up, then learning a few slow movements of the form, step by step — no pressure to get it perfect, and you can rest or sit whenever you need to. What to wear: loose, comfortable clothing you can move in, and flat, flexible shoes (some studios practice in socks or bare feet). What to bring: water, and that's about it — there's no equipment to buy. Arrive a few minutes early to say hello to the instructor and mention it's your first class. It comes together faster than you'd think — most people feel far more at ease by their second or third visit.

Tai chi is gentle and low-impact, but it's still exercise, and the health notes here are general information, not medical advice. If you have any injuries or health concerns, mention them to the instructor before class, and check with your doctor before starting a new exercise program.
