4.3 ★★★★☆ 18 Google reviews · Tai chi studio in New York, New York
Certified instruction — reviews and the studio's own info point to a recognized tai chi program or lineage (think Tai Chi for Health / Dr. Paul Lam, the Taoist Tai Chi Society, or a named family-style teacher). If credentials matter to you, ask which program the instructor is certified in and which style they teach.

From the reviews
I spent 2 years looking for a taiji push hands class in NYC and am very grateful to have found Inoshi. He is one of the best taiji instructors I have ever worked with, and finding a good taiji push hands instructor is very hard to find. Inoshi is thoughtful, and extremely knowledgeable.
Inoshi is a very caring and amazing teacher. He goes really in depth when teaching tai chi and makes sure you are doing the form and moves correctly.. As well as often showing the applications of each move. Everyone in the class is very friendly and you'd be doing yourself a favor studying with him!
I think that Inoshi is great. He teach Cheng Man Ching Yang 37 Short Form as Cheng Man Ching. He is very patient and will work with you to make sure you get your arm and feet in the correct positions to do the forms correctly. If you've ever considered taking taiji before this is the place to do it.
Great Taiji and push hands classes with a thoughtful instructor and a friendly community!
Your first tai chi class at EastWest Works
Nervous about walking into a tai chi class for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a gentle warm-up, then learning a few slow movements of the form, step by step — no pressure to get it perfect, and you can rest or sit whenever you need to. What to wear: loose, comfortable clothing you can move in, and flat, flexible shoes (some studios practice in socks or bare feet). What to bring: water, and that's about it — there's no equipment to buy. Arrive a few minutes early to say hello to the instructor and mention it's your first class. It comes together faster than you'd think — most people feel far more at ease by their second or third visit.
