From the reviews
Charlottesville Tai Chi Center creates a traditional Martial Arts learning experience right downtown in Cville! Super easy to walk in and start for any age. My mind is calm and focused and my muscles feel both relaxed and strengthened while I practice.
Starting Tai Chi is one of the best things I have every done. Sensei Hiromi is a fantastic teacher, having a way to impart information in an easy but very exacting way. I have found Tai Chi has effected all aspects of my life. Better shape, better balance and a clearer mind are just some of the benefits.
Studying T'ai Chi, Hsing-I and Ba Gua at CTCC has been the most rewarding experience of my life. I have grown stronger, more flexible, and more present in my everyday life as a result of my practice there.
Have always had great experiences at Charlottesville Tai Chi Center. Hiromi is a fantastic teacher that gives her students great opportunities and allows them to grow at their own pace. The entire group is very open and nurturing as well. We had to move away and have not yet found a Dojo quite like this one.
Your first tai chi class at Charlottesville T’ai Chi Center
Nervous about walking into a tai chi class for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a gentle warm-up, then learning a few slow movements of the form, step by step — no pressure to get it perfect, and you can rest or sit whenever you need to. What to wear: loose, comfortable clothing you can move in, and flat, flexible shoes (some studios practice in socks or bare feet). What to bring: water, and that's about it — there's no equipment to buy. Arrive a few minutes early to say hello to the instructor and mention it's your first class. It comes together faster than you'd think — most people feel far more at ease by their second or third visit.
