Certified instruction — reviews and the studio's own info point to a recognized tai chi program or lineage (think Tai Chi for Health / Dr. Paul Lam, the Taoist Tai Chi Society, or a named family-style teacher). From the reviews

Michael has helped me overcome my lower back pain and now I have a personal yoga practice that allows me to stay pain free and improve my health. His years of expertise, classical study and good heart is a gift to any student who take his sessions or class.

I started working with Michael about 6 months ago and I can’t say enough good things. I have tried yoga in the past in a few studios and never enjoyed it as the instruction was always lacking. With Michael and the one on one instruction he offers along with the mindfulness I feel like a new person.

I came to Michael because I was struggling with back pain. He broke down each yoga movement and helped me understand how to coordinate my breath & movement together. His corrections are magic! I felt so much better after each session and now I am free from back pain! He teaches you much more than yoga.

The live virtual yoga and tai chi sessions are amazing! For nearly 2 years I’ve been guided by Michael in the comfort of my own home. His approach is thoughtful and tailored to my individual needs. He ensures proper positioning through excellent communication and adjusting camera angles as needed.

Your first tai chi class at Yoga Rejuvenates

Nervous about walking into a tai chi class for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a gentle warm-up, then learning a few slow movements of the form, step by step — no pressure to get it perfect, and you can rest or sit whenever you need to. What to wear: loose, comfortable clothing you can move in, and flat, flexible shoes (some studios practice in socks or bare feet). What to bring: water, and that's about it — there's no equipment to buy. Arrive a few minutes early to say hello to the instructor and mention it's your first class. It comes together faster than you'd think — most people feel far more at ease by their second or third visit.

Tai chi is gentle and low-impact, but it's still exercise, and the health notes here are general information, not medical advice. If you have any injuries or health concerns, mention them to the instructor before class, and check with your doctor before starting a new exercise program.
