From the reviews

I struggled to find a martial arts class that would accommodate the age range of my son (3.5 years). Tiger's Kung Fu Academy is one of the only schools in the area who offers a class for this age range.

★★★★★ — Katie, May 2016

I was looking for some sort of group activity to get our 3 1/2 year old involved in, and from my first contact with Sifu Michael and Sijae Angel, I knew this would be a good fit! They were both so helpful in answering questions and are both experienced in working with kiddos who aren't the most cooperative at times.

★★★★★ — Melissa, Feb 2024

I signed my son up for Martial Arts as soon as he turned 3. My son LOVES Martial Arts and always looks forward to the day he gets to attend. My son really likes his teachers: Sifu Michael and Sijae Angel. I am impressed that they know each child that attends their classes by name.

★★★★★ — Faryn, Oct 2024

Our 6-year-old son has been attending Tiger’s King Fu Academy for over two years now and we absolutely love it! Sifu Michael, Sijae Angel, Assistant Shane, and the rest of the teaching team are incredible. They work so closely with the kids and help them grow in a variety of areas.

Your first tai chi class at Tiger's Kung Fu Academy

Nervous about walking into a tai chi class for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a gentle warm-up, then learning a few slow movements of the form, step by step — no pressure to get it perfect, and you can rest or sit whenever you need to. What to wear: loose, comfortable clothing you can move in, and flat, flexible shoes (some studios practice in socks or bare feet). What to bring: water, and that's about it — there's no equipment to buy. Arrive a few minutes early to say hello to the instructor and mention it's your first class. It comes together faster than you'd think — most people feel far more at ease by their second or third visit.

Tai chi is gentle and low-impact, but it's still exercise, and the health notes here are general information, not medical advice. If you have any injuries or health concerns, mention them to the instructor before class, and check with your doctor before starting a new exercise program.
