The classes they run
“Although many of the students there have development very high skill levels, they are all very patient and gentle, allowing for a efficient transfer of knowledge to beginners.”
“The school has your old fat people (that’d be me), your skinny young folks, your military active duty types and retirees, men and women, you name it.”
“I love Michael and the Tai Chi lessons I'm learning about internal martial arts and Tai Chi is the one I've chosen to help me balance Mind, Body and Spirit.”
“I am growing specially from Michael’s Old Six Roads class, which is revealing internal Tai Chi and Qigong principles that Michael has worked with for years.”
“I have developed new skills, new movement patterns and perceptions, experienced deeper and deeper levels of relaxation, and improved balance and health.”
“Perhaps most important to mention is his endless patience with all students at all levels and abilities.”
Styles taught here
“I started in the early ‘90s with Master Will Chan in Northern Virginia (Chen Man Ching 37 form Yang style), and received instruction both there and other places in the meantime.”
“Tai Chi Chuan is one of those arts that can only be learned through the instruction of a thoroughly knowledgeable, competent and experienced instructor like Master Michael Paler.”

From the reviews
Today is my one-year anniversary of taking classes at TCAofCS and it has changed my life and my sport. Every aspect of my living has been improved by instruction here and especially in swimming where I am now a US Masters National Champion.
I've been attending classes at the Tai Chi Association of Colorado Springs for over 5 years now. The Tai Chi practice they foster has been transformative for me in so many ways--physically, mentally, and spiritually. Michael is an incredible teacher, and we are so fortunate to have him in this area.
You know the feeling when you are ready for something and it appears? That happened when I walked into the Tai Chi Association studio 7 months ago, took class with Michael Paler and that was it! Since then, learning Tai Chi and Qigong with Michael has changed my life and is still doing so!
“Authentic” That’s the word I’d use to describe T/C Association of Colorado Springs…entirely authentic. This is my fourth Tai Chi school. I started in the early ‘90s with Master Will Chan in Northern Virginia (Chen Man Ching 37 form Yang style), and received instruction both there and other places in the meantime.
New to tai chi? Start at Tai Chi Association of Colorado Springs
Tai Chi Association of Colorado Springs comes up as a beginner-friendly studio, going by its listing and students' reviews. If you've never tried tai chi, that's exactly who a good beginners class is for. A few things worth knowing before your first session. First, you don't need to be fit or flexible to start — the movements are slow and gentle, you set your own pace, and many can be done seated if standing is hard. Second, there's nothing to buy and nothing to keep up with — wear comfortable clothes and flat, flexible shoes, and simply follow along. Third, all ages and abilities really are welcome — ask whether there's a dedicated beginners or all-levels class time so your first session is alongside others who are also starting out. Most studios are happy to let you watch or try a class first, so reach out before you commit.
Your first tai chi class at Tai Chi Association of Colorado Springs
Nervous about walking into a tai chi class for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a gentle warm-up, then learning a few slow movements of the form, step by step — no pressure to get it perfect, and you can rest or sit whenever you need to. What to wear: loose, comfortable clothing you can move in, and flat, flexible shoes (some studios practice in socks or bare feet). What to bring: water, and that's about it — there's no equipment to buy. Arrive a few minutes early to say hello to the instructor and mention it's your first class. It comes together faster than you'd think — most people feel far more at ease by their second or third visit.
