From the reviews

I've been a Tai Chi student at PDS for 9 years, and now also teach beginner classes since 2023. Master Young brings deep knowledge, wisdom, and humor to teaching. I get relaxation and meditative movement that I enjoy from it.

★★★★★ — Nigel, May 2024

I like being in the space of this (mostly) traditional Chinese tai chi school—the silence, the ceramic figures of Cheng Man-Ching, the art on the walls, the heavy wooden benches, the meditation room.

★★★★★ — Gg, May 2024

Master Young has dedicated her life to the study and teaching of Tai Chi. I've travelled to Asia many times and met many martial arts teachers. Master Young's skill and style is inclusive & beautiful. It's a great way to enhance your physical and emotional strength. Highly recommended!

★★★★★ — Jaspreet, May 2024

Peaceful Dragon School offers students a welcoming place to learn. Over many years, through her own deep training and practice, Master Young has developed teaching methods allowing her students to progress from learning basic body movement/posture mechanics to deeper, more fluid and mindful practices.

Your first tai chi class at Peaceful Dragon School (Tai Chi and Qigong)

Nervous about walking into a tai chi class for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a gentle warm-up, then learning a few slow movements of the form, step by step — no pressure to get it perfect, and you can rest or sit whenever you need to. What to wear: loose, comfortable clothing you can move in, and flat, flexible shoes (some studios practice in socks or bare feet). What to bring: water, and that's about it — there's no equipment to buy. Arrive a few minutes early to say hello to the instructor and mention it's your first class. It comes together faster than you'd think — most people feel far more at ease by their second or third visit.

Tai chi is gentle and low-impact, but it's still exercise, and the health notes here are general information, not medical advice. If you have any injuries or health concerns, mention them to the instructor before class, and check with your doctor before starting a new exercise program.
