From the reviews
Our teen son has taken martial arts instruction from Chris Martingilio for the last 2 years. Chris is an outstanding instructor, can teach to all personality types, varies the class content and intensity to keep students engaged, gives real and honest feedback to his students about their performance, and encourages…
Chris is a brilliant teacher with the ability to breakdown complex movements and ideas in a way that all skill and experience levels can benefit from. He is a “teacher” in the truest sense of the word. And his domain knowledge is incredible.
Master Chris is more than amazing. He is the kind of person who genuinely cares about every single student like he’s known them forever. From the moment you walk in, you already feel supported and respected.
My daughter and I are both enrolled in class and went into it grateful for the chance we were going to get to spend time together and learn a lifelong skill. But we soon learned that it was much more than that. Chris didn't just enroll us, he wanted to understand why we were inquiring, who we are.
Your first tai chi class at Martingilio Martial Arts
Nervous about walking into a tai chi class for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a gentle warm-up, then learning a few slow movements of the form, step by step — no pressure to get it perfect, and you can rest or sit whenever you need to. What to wear: loose, comfortable clothing you can move in, and flat, flexible shoes (some studios practice in socks or bare feet). What to bring: water, and that's about it — there's no equipment to buy. Arrive a few minutes early to say hello to the instructor and mention it's your first class. It comes together faster than you'd think — most people feel far more at ease by their second or third visit.
