Certified instruction — reviews and the studio's own info point to a recognized tai chi program or lineage (think Tai Chi for Health / Dr. Paul Lam, the Taoist Tai Chi Society, or a named family-style teacher). From the reviews
As I sit here at my 21 year old sons belt ceremony, I realize one that being a parent does not come with a "How to" guide. I'm still learning and I thank God for Master Lee and his teaching.
Been going here a few years now. What brought me to this school was that I was introduced to it as a place to heal and improve yourself. Yes, you will learn to fight, but Master Lee teaches far more than that. This school is built on mutual support and personal growth.
Highly recommend this place for children and adults of all ages. The systems and forms taught here WORK. Master Lee promotes a healthy and encouraging environment for those to learn and grow to their fullest potential. I’ve been training for over a year now and the comparison to myself a year ago is day and night.
It’s the most fun I have ever had in my life… I can’t live without it.. I pray that martial arts brings my relationship closer to Christ. I love improving every day and studying my body.
Your first tai chi class at Lee's Chinese Martial Arts Federation
Nervous about walking into a tai chi class for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a gentle warm-up, then learning a few slow movements of the form, step by step — no pressure to get it perfect, and you can rest or sit whenever you need to. What to wear: loose, comfortable clothing you can move in, and flat, flexible shoes (some studios practice in socks or bare feet). What to bring: water, and that's about it — there's no equipment to buy. Arrive a few minutes early to say hello to the instructor and mention it's your first class. It comes together faster than you'd think — most people feel far more at ease by their second or third visit.
