From the reviews
To say over the past 10 months that Newport Lau Kune Do and most prominently Sifu Paul McIntyre have positively affected the lives of my wife and I would be the grossest of understatements.
Several years later I am still training under Sifu Mcintyre and calling Lau Kune Do my home away from home. This school has blossomed from a place where you can work on yourself to a place where any avenue for self improvement can be explored.
I cannot say enough about how Sifu McIntyre has positively impacted my own and many other's lives thru his example and teaching. I have been training under Sifu McIntyre for 9 years. Sifu's gift is beyond just teaching you a movement or a technique, but teaching you how to train, how to conquer and know yourself.
Exceptional teachings for health and wellness. After recovering from CVD 4 times and the 24/7 executive pressures of running multiple businesses this is EXACTLY the right program to incorporate wellness techniques structured to fit my schedule and lifestyle goals.
Your first tai chi class at Lau Kune Do Kung Fu and Tai Chi
Nervous about walking into a tai chi class for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a gentle warm-up, then learning a few slow movements of the form, step by step — no pressure to get it perfect, and you can rest or sit whenever you need to. What to wear: loose, comfortable clothing you can move in, and flat, flexible shoes (some studios practice in socks or bare feet). What to bring: water, and that's about it — there's no equipment to buy. Arrive a few minutes early to say hello to the instructor and mention it's your first class. It comes together faster than you'd think — most people feel far more at ease by their second or third visit.
