From the reviews
We had an incredible experience at Family Martial Arts Academy! The instructors were so patient and inclusive with my four-year-old, who needed a bit of extra encouragement to try the class.
Our 6 year old son has been taking private and group classes here for over a year. This has been such a positive experience for us. My son has learned so much in this time, self confidence, public speaking, following directions, focus, listening skills, respect, and the technical aspects of Karate.
I have been learning from Family Martial Arts Academy since 2007. I have always encountered proficient, intelligent, fun practitioners who have encouraged the best out of me. I can't imagine training anywhere else and doing as well. Amazing for children, adults, and families.
A great community. I was impressed with the number and the quality of instructors that teach at Family Martial Arts Academy. There are classes for everybody, from young children to their grandparents, with many whole families enrolled in classes.
Your first tai chi class at Family Martial Arts Academy
Nervous about walking into a tai chi class for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a gentle warm-up, then learning a few slow movements of the form, step by step — no pressure to get it perfect, and you can rest or sit whenever you need to. What to wear: loose, comfortable clothing you can move in, and flat, flexible shoes (some studios practice in socks or bare feet). What to bring: water, and that's about it — there's no equipment to buy. Arrive a few minutes early to say hello to the instructor and mention it's your first class. It comes together faster than you'd think — most people feel far more at ease by their second or third visit.
