“It was a breath of relief to find better lineage and instruction, grounded in traditional ancient arts he studied in China, here in the US.”

From the reviews

Paul Ramos is an extraordinary Tai Chi master who has an instruction style that is very comfortable for all types of students. His sensitivity to individual needs is upmost in my mind when I recommend him. For me it is a need to move slowly through the breathing techniques, understanding the philosophy and the forms.

★★★★★ — Larry, Jun 2023

Master Paul has extensive knowledge and deep understanding of kung fu, tai chi, martial arts, and Taoism in general. I traveled to Wudang, China for 3 months to study martial arts, unhappy with the instruction I received there. I went to half a dozen schools in my search.

★★★★★ — Jake, Jun 2023

Paul is terrific! He gently guides you through Tai Chi movements, principles and philosophy. His experience is unquestionable and meets you where you are. I take private lessons in Gaithersburg and would highly recommend!

★★★★★ — Donna, Jun 2023

Paul is an amazing teacher! Kind, extremely skilled, patient but pushes you to do your best. Flexible and caring while also being a badass. Everything one could want in a tai chi mentor. Highest recommendation!

Your first tai chi class at Wu Shen Tao tai chi kung fu center/ Clear Circle training Center

Nervous about walking into a tai chi class for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a gentle warm-up, then learning a few slow movements of the form, step by step — no pressure to get it perfect, and you can rest or sit whenever you need to. What to wear: loose, comfortable clothing you can move in, and flat, flexible shoes (some studios practice in socks or bare feet). What to bring: water, and that's about it — there's no equipment to buy. Arrive a few minutes early to say hello to the instructor and mention it's your first class. It comes together faster than you'd think — most people feel far more at ease by their second or third visit.

Tai chi is gentle and low-impact, but it's still exercise, and the health notes here are general information, not medical advice. If you have any injuries or health concerns, mention them to the instructor before class, and check with your doctor before starting a new exercise program.
