Certified instruction — reviews and the studio's own info point to a recognized tai chi program or lineage (think Tai Chi for Health / Dr. Paul Lam, the Taoist Tai Chi Society, or a named family-style teacher). If credentials matter to you, ask which program the instructor is certified in and which style they teach.

From the reviews
Patience is very important when learning Kung Fu. If you don't have any, you will learn it at this school. Learn how to control a situation by learning how to master and control yourself. You found the Wright teacher at this school!
This is the best school I've attended. It's both challenging and authentic as it follows traditional Shaolin curriculum very closely. Sifu Tím and Master Mary are knowledgeable and disciplined teachers, Highly recommend.
10-15 years ago before I came here I trained in Mostly Boxing and kickboxing..fast forward in time ..after 7 years of training in Kung Fu and Tai chi Master wright showed me the confidence that I have been lacking on for years even through the ups and downs he taught me how to do better in life he's considered more…
I studied under Master Wai Lun Choi during the mid 90s to early 2000's in Hsing I and Tibetan Lama in Chicago at his studio on Irving by Lincoln Ave. The only current and active Tibetan Lama instructor through the Master Choi- Karl Knoble lineage in Chicago is Tim "Apache" Wright.
Your first tai chi class at Wrights Traditional Kung Fu
Nervous about walking into a tai chi class for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a gentle warm-up, then learning a few slow movements of the form, step by step — no pressure to get it perfect, and you can rest or sit whenever you need to. What to wear: loose, comfortable clothing you can move in, and flat, flexible shoes (some studios practice in socks or bare feet). What to bring: water, and that's about it — there's no equipment to buy. Arrive a few minutes early to say hello to the instructor and mention it's your first class. It comes together faster than you'd think — most people feel far more at ease by their second or third visit.
