Certified instruction — reviews and the studio's own info point to a recognized tai chi program or lineage (think Tai Chi for Health / Dr. Paul Lam, the Taoist Tai Chi Society, or a named family-style teacher). From the reviews
This is the best Kung Fu school. The instructors are all genuine masters who have trained their entire lives. More importantly, they are great with children. My 6 year old son has attended the school since he was 3 years old and he loves the school and the instructors. He is also making amazing progress.
My 9 year old son has been coming here since he was 4. All the instructors are very patient and the weekday classes are less crowded than the weekends. The classes are fun for the students as learning the techniques is augmented with fun activities.
Learning basic Kungfu/Taichi via Zoom in this pandamic is great and convenient. Kung-fu master David is very patient with us seniors🙂. Hard to believe that in the short 30 minutes, the movements we followed made us energized.👍
Really nice instructors and they actually teach discipline, technique, and practical skills.
Your first tai chi class at Pure Shaolin Kung Fu
Nervous about walking into a tai chi class for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a gentle warm-up, then learning a few slow movements of the form, step by step — no pressure to get it perfect, and you can rest or sit whenever you need to. What to wear: loose, comfortable clothing you can move in, and flat, flexible shoes (some studios practice in socks or bare feet). What to bring: water, and that's about it — there's no equipment to buy. Arrive a few minutes early to say hello to the instructor and mention it's your first class. It comes together faster than you'd think — most people feel far more at ease by their second or third visit.
