Absolutely amazing experience at this Wushu school! Coach Calvin is incredibly patient, supportive, and passionate about teaching. He takes the time to make sure every student understands the techniques properly, no matter their skill level. His energy and encouragement make every class enjoyable and motivating.
As a mom, I couldn’t be happier with this Wushu school. The instructors are patient, professional, and truly care about each child. My daughter has grown so much in confidence, discipline, and physical strength since joining. The training environment is structured, safe, and very encouraging.
Very cool, chill coaches that like to say jokes. Fun to learn all the cool weapons and forms while still being serious. Coaches give fun things to do to encourage people to practice at home including earning points, and having fun games especially during COVID-19. Would recommend to everyone.
I’ve been at NEWushu for years as both a student and a coach, and it’s shaped a lot of who I am. The school balances real wushu skills (hard to find in USA) with community. I’ve seen the academy grow from a small group into a structured program with an environment where kids and adults actually improve.
Your first tai chi class at New England Wushu Academy
Nervous about walking into a tai chi class for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a gentle warm-up, then learning a few slow movements of the form, step by step — no pressure to get it perfect, and you can rest or sit whenever you need to. What to wear: loose, comfortable clothing you can move in, and flat, flexible shoes (some studios practice in socks or bare feet). What to bring: water, and that's about it — there's no equipment to buy. Arrive a few minutes early to say hello to the instructor and mention it's your first class. It comes together faster than you'd think — most people feel far more at ease by their second or third visit.
