From the reviews

This a school for serious martial artists who is interested in learning Shaolin Kung Fu. I get a better workout for what I've paid, it helps me in defending myself, and I feel an improvement in myself, plus I get to learn the weapons like bo, sai, and broadsword. And they're fun.

I took my third class yesterday and I love the history of Shaolin-Do already and the masters can't be any more polite and respectful! All of them know what they're talking about and I will continue to study martial arts at this place!

11 years ago, at 34, I was a student of western boxing, which I loved, but I wanted to train a traditional art for different reasons than just fighting. Shaolin Do is a thinking art. You're always fixing and correcting yourself, to make each movement work as inteded.

I recently relocated to the Louisville area and was pleased to find Louisville Shaolin-Do and Elder Master John Price. The atmosphere is relaxed and fun with a family vibe that is refreshing. I had prior experience in Shaolin-Do but had been away from the art for several years.

Your first tai chi class at Louisville Shaolin-Do Kung Fu & Tai Chi

Nervous about walking into a tai chi class for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a gentle warm-up, then learning a few slow movements of the form, step by step — no pressure to get it perfect, and you can rest or sit whenever you need to. What to wear: loose, comfortable clothing you can move in, and flat, flexible shoes (some studios practice in socks or bare feet). What to bring: water, and that's about it — there's no equipment to buy. Arrive a few minutes early to say hello to the instructor and mention it's your first class. It comes together faster than you'd think — most people feel far more at ease by their second or third visit.

Tai chi is gentle and low-impact, but it's still exercise, and the health notes here are general information, not medical advice. If you have any injuries or health concerns, mention them to the instructor before class, and check with your doctor before starting a new exercise program.
