From the reviews

I've been training at JTK for about 6 months now and I have seen incredible progress in both my body as well as my mindset. My instructor, Aaron, has shown a level of care and intensity that is more inspiring than you would think.

★★★★★ — Josh, Jan 2026

You train about as close to life threatening situations that you may encounter to defend yourself or others if needed. You learn lethal fighting technics that can protect you from someone trying to harm you. The training is safe and is a super clean Do Jo. Highly instructive, hands on training.

★★★★★ — Gregory, Jan 2026

My daughter is so happy here and she loves her Karate classes. The instructor is very professional and experienced in martial arts.

★★★★★ — Kearney, Feb 2026

It was clean and the professor was knowledgeable and welcoming. I saw an 8year old girl practicing traditional kenpo techniques so well she was knocking over adults 3times her size. The prices are reasonable. The adult classes are more intense and concise.

Your first tai chi class at JTK Training Academy

Nervous about walking into a tai chi class for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a gentle warm-up, then learning a few slow movements of the form, step by step — no pressure to get it perfect, and you can rest or sit whenever you need to. What to wear: loose, comfortable clothing you can move in, and flat, flexible shoes (some studios practice in socks or bare feet). What to bring: water, and that's about it — there's no equipment to buy. Arrive a few minutes early to say hello to the instructor and mention it's your first class. It comes together faster than you'd think — most people feel far more at ease by their second or third visit.

Tai chi is gentle and low-impact, but it's still exercise, and the health notes here are general information, not medical advice. If you have any injuries or health concerns, mention them to the instructor before class, and check with your doctor before starting a new exercise program.
