From the reviews

Nine years ago I began attending Tai Chi classes at Human Harmonies in Swampscott, MA. I was a woman in my 70's and felt that I needed to be concerned about balance. Prior to attending HH, I had had serious surgery and a Tai Chi class was recommended.

Honestly, this is the most wonderful thing I’ve ever done for myself. It challenges my brain, body connection unlike anything I’ve tried before. I enthusiastically look forward to going. All the instructor’s are patient and make it fun to learn. Tai Chi challenges in a very unique way.

I came to Human Harmonies with no movement in my shoulder after surgery. Nothing helped. Slowly I was able to move it. Now I am able to raise my arm to the sky! It changed my life!! Please try it for yourself.

I recently attended my first Tai Chi class. The environment was inviting, and the instructors made the session both educational and enjoyable. I appreciated how the class focused on mindfulness and gentle movement, making it perfect for beginners like me.

Your first tai chi class at Human Harmonies North Shore

Nervous about walking into a tai chi class for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a gentle warm-up, then learning a few slow movements of the form, step by step — no pressure to get it perfect, and you can rest or sit whenever you need to. What to wear: loose, comfortable clothing you can move in, and flat, flexible shoes (some studios practice in socks or bare feet). What to bring: water, and that's about it — there's no equipment to buy. Arrive a few minutes early to say hello to the instructor and mention it's your first class. It comes together faster than you'd think — most people feel far more at ease by their second or third visit.

Tai chi is gentle and low-impact, but it's still exercise, and the health notes here are general information, not medical advice. If you have any injuries or health concerns, mention them to the instructor before class, and check with your doctor before starting a new exercise program.
