My journey with Classical started with this picture, and it has been a fantastic, joyous experience ever since! There is no place better to find a massive amount of traditional knowledge about the Eastern cultures and their fighting traditions, no place more dedicated to helping you discover the best possible version…
Sifu Steve is very learned and has vast amounts of experience. He is very dedicated towards students and he is especially great with young kids. Easy to talk to and explains everything in detail when you have questions. Kids learn basics of martial arts with building confidence, strength and discipline.
The people are very friendly and helpful. The classes are great and get you in shape. Also the classes are very interesting helpful and taught by an amazing master and teacher. He really helps you perform the art to the fullest , what ever style you choose. Great master and school. So glad I found him.
Your first tai chi class at Classical Martial Arts of Long Island
Nervous about walking into a tai chi class for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a gentle warm-up, then learning a few slow movements of the form, step by step — no pressure to get it perfect, and you can rest or sit whenever you need to. What to wear: loose, comfortable clothing you can move in, and flat, flexible shoes (some studios practice in socks or bare feet). What to bring: water, and that's about it — there's no equipment to buy. Arrive a few minutes early to say hello to the instructor and mention it's your first class. It comes together faster than you'd think — most people feel far more at ease by their second or third visit.
