From the reviews
This is the current location of James Lee's school. Now with a permanent location he is open Monday through Thursday night and Saturday morning. Excellent program and the best option for Tai chi and internal martial arts in the area. You can do it for fitness, martial arts or just to feel better. Highly recommended.
I went to my first Tai Chi class today. The instructor took the time to personally help me though the moves and ensure my form was correct from the start. The other students were very understanding of an absolute beginner. I went ahead and signed up for weekly classes. Can't wait to keep going on this new journey.
Wonderful Instructors. Very caring environment with the other students as well. TaiChi has helped reduce the amount of chronic pain that I experience and helped my mind to relax. The instructors and this studio have truly been a God send. I highly recommend giving it a try.❤️
Hubs and I tried out our first class today and enjoyed it. James is knowledgeable, patient, and understanding. We look forward to becoming regulars!
Your first tai chi class at Cheng Ming USA - VA Tai Chi Martial Arts
Nervous about walking into a tai chi class for the first time? Almost everyone is, and good instructors expect beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a gentle warm-up, then learning a few slow movements of the form, step by step — no pressure to get it perfect, and you can rest or sit whenever you need to. What to wear: loose, comfortable clothing you can move in, and flat, flexible shoes (some studios practice in socks or bare feet). What to bring: water, and that's about it — there's no equipment to buy. Arrive a few minutes early to say hello to the instructor and mention it's your first class. It comes together faster than you'd think — most people feel far more at ease by their second or third visit.
